In 2000, Custom Coffees began as Grata Gourmet Coffees, filling a gap for cafes outside the dominance of large national roasters. We were the first coffee roaster based outside Melbourne, pioneering artisanal coffee in regional Victoria. Starting from a shop in Bendigo’s CBD, our focus on high-quality wholesale roasting quickly gained traction. As demand grew, we rebranded to Custom Coffees.
To support our growth and better serve customers, we moved to a modern facility in Mayfair Park Estate, East Bendigo. This shift reflected a broader cultural change—coffee evolving into a craft appreciated beyond a simple beverage.
